How can we help?

Start with the quick answers below. If something still looks wrong, send a focused report and we will help trace it.

Contact support

Include the app version, iOS version, device model, what you expected, and the exact steps that produced the issue.

Email support

Protect your account: never send your password, access token, refresh token, Garmin device token, or a full private workout export in a support email.

I can't sign in

Check the email address and password, confirm that your device is online, and use Resend confirmation if the account email has not been confirmed. If the problem continues, contact support from the address associated with the account. Do not send your password.

My cloud data isn't current

Keep GymApp open and online briefly after editing a workout, then refresh the relevant screen. If another device changed the cloud revision first, GymApp rejects the stale write instead of restoring deleted data; reopen the account to load the authoritative state. Include the approximate time of the failed sync in a support request.

How do I delete my account?

Open Profile → Account, privacy & deletion → Delete Account, review the warning, and confirm the irreversible deletion. This removes the Auth account and associated active cloud profile, workout state, friend/request/block/privacy/invitation/live-room records, notification installations/outbox, and Garmin cloud records, then clears local account data. Deleting the app alone does not delete the cloud account. If in-app deletion fails, contact support.

How do backups work?

Open Profile → Backup & diagnostics to export or import workout JSON, or share a diagnostics PDF. Review a file before sharing it because workout notes may contain personal information. GymApp backups must not contain your password or authentication tokens.

How do friends and workout invitations work?

The global leaderboard was removed because device-entered workout history is not verified competitive scoring. Add someone with a random GymApp friend code; both accounts must confirm before either can see the categories each friend enables. Friend XP, levels, recent summaries, and exercise bests are synchronized self-reported data. Share → Link or a standard friend invitation creates an independent editable draft. For a live workout, invite one confirmed friend: accepting the invitation atomically starts the frozen plan for both participants, and the active screen shows two nickname tabs. Each person can switch between their own editable entries and the other participant’s committed, read-only sets, weight, and repetitions in real time. The room contains no notes, email, or Auth UUID. It needs a network connection and safely refreshes after reconnect. Remove or block the friend to revoke access and close pending invitations or the live room.

Why didn't I receive a timer or live-workout alert?

Check Settings → Notifications → GymApp. Rest-timer alerts are local. Optional system alerts for friend/live invite, join, start, finish, and close events require your notification permission and must be available and configured on that platform. GymApp does not send promotional push. Per-set weight, repetitions, and completion are synchronized directly inside the open live room through Realtime, not through push, so refresh or reopen the live screen after reconnecting. Workout logging and in-app live sync still work when system notifications are denied.

Garmin won't sync

Confirm the Garmin device is paired, online, and using the matching GymApp companion experience. Retry the plan transfer, then check sync status. Garmin is optional; workout logging and progress work without a Garmin device. Do not send the opaque device token to support unless specifically requested through a secure channel.

Health and safety

GymApp is a workout log and planning tool, not a medical device. Stop exercising if you feel unwell and seek qualified medical advice for health decisions or emergencies.
